Scott Bayliss

I’m a Bristol/London based Actor, Model and all around Creative with connections to The Bristol Old Vic Theatre, The Identity School of Acting and The Creative Youth Network.

Over this lockdown period I have really tried to clear my head and focus on the more important things, the industry can be so hectic at times so it is always important for self-care.

Whether it be Theatre or Film I always want to push the boundaries and create my own work, I have been writing a lot of short films that I can hopefully develop and at the same time are helping me keep a creative outlook.

I find that as lockdown progresses, I have been watching less and less television, but a must watch definitely in today's climate is Sitting in Limbo which was recently broadcast on BBC.

At the moment I’m working on a script for a film about Mental Health, which will have a dark twist to it. Apart from that I will mainly be working on my film and editing skills and not putting much content out as my focus is on a Gas Engineering course I’ve not long started.

A book I really recommend is 50 Cent’s latest Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, which I highly recommend. It definitely opened my eyes and gave me a different outlook on life.

They all tell their stories of why they started Martial Arts and the obstacles they all experienced.

Despite all these challenges throughout their everyday life and in the world of Martial Arts they all turned negative into positive.

This production also pays homage to Henry Cornwall Max Maximen, Trevor Johnson and Stanmore Allen for their contributions to the Martial Arts world before they all passed away.

This production will educate and give you a true account of the many contributions these Afrikan Caribbean legends have done for the City of Bristol, The UK and the World.

Abbi Bayliss

My name is Abbi Bayliss, I'm a Bristol based illustrator and writer. Over the last few months in lockdown I have been illustrating an upcoming children's book series collaboration with the author Simone Thomas, it follows little girl Summer on her adventures along with her family and cat Mittens. I’ve also been illustrating and writing for my blog BIBI Magazine where I cover topics on arts and culture. One of my favourite articles I’ve written recently is “How to get your daily dose of Culture from home” where I explore film platforms, virtual exhibitions and accessible media. I have also been setting up an online shop, which is finally live. I’m selling Prints, Postcards and Stickers of my artwork with new designs coming soon.

I would definitely recommend the books Black and British A: Forgotten History by David Olusoga and I Will Not Be Erased by Galdem; both challenging the deeply embedded history of systemic racism in Britain. I also have enjoyed Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi and Girl. Woman. Other by Bernadine Evaristo; both books with charming honest characters. A poetry book I will always recommend is Maya Angelou’s I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, which provides so much strength and assurance, something we all need today.
